Gingrich Not Going To Run

"ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Two days after hinting he wanted to try for the White House, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich decided he would not run for president, his spokesman said Saturday..."  
  The debates would have been interesting if he had run.  I hope that the next president, who will be Hillary Clinton, offers him a job in the government.

  God love the Iranians I am starting to like them.  They are funny.  I hope we can work things out with them.  I have heard that the Iranian people like the United States.  We just have problems with the people running Iran.  Come to think of it ..we got problems with people running the United States government.

"PHOENIX -- A 45-year-old woman who was in police custody after being arrested for disorderly conduct in a Phoenix airport terminal died in a holding room while apparently struggling with her handcuffs, police said..."
That sort of thing should not happen.  You put the cuffs on them and you own them.  Something happen to them and it is your ass. 

   There just seems to be too much shit happening.  Is it because we see everything on the news or is it because our police are fucking up major all the time.
    You got the case were there was a car accident and the victims of the accident and family said there are two other victims and the police did not look for them or did not look good.  The father found them much later.
     You got the woman that drove off the road and crashed in her car and the police did not find her.  The husband asked the police to look.  The husband drove the road him self looking for her.  He asked them to use cell phone information to find her.  They said they could not do that and she was found 8 days later. She is in very poor condition in the hospital ICU. 
      There are too many police shootings.  The taser being used too often.
      Something is wrong.

      Murder is up all across the United States.  It is up 26% in Miami.  That is a big increase. 

       The Miami police are getting AK-47s now,  I don't think it is a good idea to arm police with AK-47s when they don't know when to use a taser.

Virgin and T-Mobile

  I found out from Ken that the condo we are moving into is A.  So I can now sign up with Comcast for Internet service.  Ken says he does not want TV service.  So I am just going to sign up for the Internet service and they have a special at this time.  I can get Internet service, 8 M down, for $30.00 a month.  I will have to pay $99.00 for them to set up the service.  Oh that 30.00 is for six months and then the price is $60 a month.
   Right now I pay $120.00 a month for TV and Internet.  So I am going to save after six months $60.00 a month.  Of course I will not have TV.

  I was going to sign up now that I know the unit we will be in...but they ask a phone number and I know the service guy is going to call and not show up unless he gets someone to answer.  I was going to give Ken's cell number but he turns off his phone when at work etc.

   For my phone service I use Skype (VoIP) and that will not work since I will not have Internet service.

   I am thinking about getting a pre-paid cell phone.  I also think a cell phone will help during this move.  I am sure there will be times when I am at the old place or the new place and Ken or Russ will need to contact me.
   I looked on line.  Now the Virgin plan that looks good is I would pay a flat $7.00 per month and and each call is 10 cents a minute.  It is rare for me to talk to the telephone.
   But T-Mobile has a couple of plans that sound good...one is $25 and you get 130 minutes for that money and unused minutes roll over.  That $25.00 is good for 3 months.
   The other T-Mobile plan is you pay $100.00 and you get 1000 minutes and it is good for one year.  Today I hate to pay out $100.00 but if I did the $25.00 plan I could add $100.00 at anytime and then I would be in the "gold" plan.
   I am thinking about doing it today because I want a phone number I can give to Comcast when I  put in the order for the install at the new place.
   I guess I should go with T-Mobile.  Russell has an old T-Mobile pre-paid phone.  So today all I need to do is come up with the money for the plan.

Signing up for Comcast

  I just attempted to sign up for Comcast cable service on line.  It was not bad.  I put in the information.  I picked out the service I wanted and I just picked Internet service.  The price would be $29.99 a month for six months.  There would be a $99.00 install fee to hook up one computer.
  So after answer some questions I end up in a chat room.  They pull up the address and they want to know is it A, B, C or D.  I did not know the condo used a letter for the address.  I was thinking we just had an address.  I said can you call my son on his cell phone and ask him if he knows.  They can't call out.  I said can I email it to you and he said they don't have an email address.  He said the only they I could do was cancel the order and find out if it is condo A,B,C, or D and do it over again.
  So I did not get an order in Internet service yet.
  I do know that it is going to cost me about $130.00 to get the service going and that I will pay $30.00 each month for six months.  Then it will be about $60.00 a month.

  Maybe later today I can get some input from Ken and Russell and I may change what I order.  They use the Internet and TV here but they always act like they don't care and don't need it.  I would like to get some input from them.  I am willing to spend a few dollars for TV but it they don't care.. I will just get the Internet and to hell with the TV.

It makes you think about our world.  Thank God we are not in Vietnam bombing and dropping Agent Orange on it now.  There are so many parts of the world that are so special.  Even Iraq is a special place.  It has a long history and is called the cradle of civilization.  It is the birthplace of writing.

I posted about the brain eating organism here but forgot to say something..that I say often..and that is why in the hell do they keep coming up with new things to kill you.  Don't we have enough?  I know I know these things been around since the beginning we never knew about them.  But at one time in my life I was thinking ..that we would cure things and be safer.  It does not look like it now.

Of course what we need to worry about is crime and things like traffic accidents. 

I guess I will call Comcast and put in an advance order for cable TV and Internet service at the new place we are going to move into soon. 
But am I correct that I can order DSL or the high speed fiber Internet service even if we do not have phone service installed at that location?  Do they just charge you a little extra because you don't have a phone line?  I would like to have the Verizon FiOS service.

I just did a check at Verizon on line and put in the address and it says the service is not currently available for the address.

Looks like it is going to be Comcast. Any experts on Comcast out there?  You have the service?  What do you recommend?

Brain eating organism

  This story is scary.  An Arizona Boy Dies of Rare Infection.  I saw a scary TV show long time ago.  In the story a guy puts a bug or slug or something into the ear of a guy when he is sleeping and it eats it way through the guys brain.  I never forgot that dumb TV show.  I can't get it out of my mind.
  Now when I was a kid and my friends and I went and saw movies like the The Brain Eaters (1958)  that was easy to forgot...
  But this current true live attack is scary and I don't even swim.

  Ken and I went to the casino last night.  We both lost.  It has been years and years since I won at a casino.  I think that was back in Missouri.  I should not go to the casino.

  Ken is going to take me to the store today and I am going to stock up on some cheap food.  
  A new eating place opened up at the food court over at the mall.  I can't wait to get over and check out their food.

 

Adobe Flash

  I don't know about you but for the last week or two I been going to web sites and getting a notice that I need to upgrade to the new version of Adobe Flash.  At first I was thinking it was some hack program.
  Well know it is not.  But I might be better off if it had been.  It seems now that Adobe has taken over Flash they must have plans for taking over the world..OK not the world.. maybe the Internet.. OK maybe not the Internet...how about the viewing of videos.
  I hate the Adobe reader program.  It has always been a pain in the ass.  Yes sure nice when it works OK but often a pain.

  I need Flash.  I can get by without the dam Adobe reader..not easy but I can live without it.. Lot of video is in Flash.
  I signed up for a site and you have to have the new version of flash.  OK.. I go to get it.  They have a program to down load and go and get into your system big time and remove the old Flash program.  Not over right it ..but make changes to everything..
  OK I do that..but I get an error.. NOT good.
  I go to install the new Flash.  It does not work.  I go to install their Super Shockwave Flash or what ever the fuck it is..  It does not work

  Right now I am fucking out of luck.  Thank you Adobe.

  I looked around the web and I am not the only one commenting on the Marcia and Jan lesbian fling.  Smile
  I found a lot of sites talking about it and all of them making jokes about it.
  I should point out that I know that it was not a "lesbian" thing.  I think a lot of girls play around like that...some boys also.  I have no idea of numbers but I will make a guess.. I would say that 2 in 10 girls play around with other girls when they are young.  I would guess that 1 in 25 boys do with each other.  I do not have a study or reading or anything to back up that statement.
  Now with everything that kids know now days..maybe the numbers are much higher.  I am 66 years old.  I never saw a live nude person when I was growing up.  I never knew what a homosexual was...not sure I ever heard the word...remember I went to Catholic schools..
  When I was in high school I was say "heard on" from time to time about something.. Remember I had a hearing problem..  sometime in my last year or so of high school or maybe after I got out some one corrected me and said it is "hard-on." That is how dumb I was about sexual stuff.  But with everything kids see and hear today.. I wonder what the heck is going on with them.

  I walked up to CVS and got my Corex CR medication.  It cost $60.00 for one month supply.  I now have three medications each cost 60.00 a month.  So I am spending $180.00 a month just on medication.  I have never filled one Rx that the doctor wants me to take.  I have no idea what it cost each month.

  I think I will take a nap.  It is almost 0900 hours but I was up at 0400 hours.  I think I went to bed about 0200 hours.  So a nap would be good. 
  Maybe when I wake up The Brady Bunch will be on TV.  Smile

 

University of Florida to give Jack Kevorkian $50K

  I know you do not believe the head line right?
  Yes the very same Jack Kevorkian that was in jail for second degree murder and got out of jail because he was going to die himself any day has accepted the offer of $50,000.00 to speak at the University of Florida (Gainesville) on October 11th.

   I saw Kevorkian's attorney on TV, back before Kevorkian got out, begging to please let Jack Kevorkian out of jail because he was dying and would be dead very soon.

   I, of course, do not support the Schiavo Foundation but maybe you want to sign their petition.  I would not donate any money to their foundation.

  We need to change our laws and court system.  If an attorney lies he should suffer something.  Right now an attorney will lie and say anything to win.  I think the legal system in the UK is different.  I do not think an attorney can fuck with the legal system and lie and cheat just to win a case. 
  Too bad we can't put the Kevorkain attorney in jail and let him stay in jail until the death of Kevorkain.  Since he said that Kevorkain going to die any day.
  I wonder how long before Kevorkain kicks out a book.

Never be a manager

  Russell just got home from work.  He went in at 0700 and got home at 2300 hours.  That is 15 hours.  He has to be at work at 0600 hours.  He is a manager. 
  Most of the time in most places I do not think it is good to be in supervision. 
  I was a supervisor for five years at one hospital but I did not let them over work me.  I also made sure that everyone working for me knew what I did and could do my job.  Things went smooth all the time.  When the department director was sick or on vacation I was in charge of the entire department and things went smooth.

  The next hospital that I worked at was Research Medical Center and I worked for them 18 years and they not only made sure I was never in charge of anything they would make sure that new employees did not get any in service training from me.  It was sort of funny.
  At the main hospital we would switch post each two hours.  If a new employee was training they would send him to a post to be with an officer.  Well a new employee would show up at my post and say I guess your going to show me around..I would say..no.. in just a few minutes they will find out your with me and send a supervisor to put you with someone else.. and that is just what would happen.
  Of course out of those 18 years I spent about 13 years working alone at smaller hospitals.  I liked that.. I was not a supervisor but I was the only officer on duty.. and I just did things my own way.  I worked one hospital and was there for ten years and you could count on one hand the number of times I called the main hospital with a question.  The big boss at the main hospital did not like that.. I said something about it one time in a meeting and he got all red in the face about it.
  A lot of people do not know how to be a boss/supervisor.  It is interesting...I have know some very smart guys that could not handle even the most simple job of being a first line supervisor.
  I also saw some, over the years, very nice guys and as soon as they became a supervisor they turned in to big ass holes.

  Give me a rank and file job were they pay you by the hour any time.

Teacher Arraigned for having sex with 17 year old

"A Roseville High School teacher accused of having sex with her teenaged student aide last school year was arraigned on criminal sexual conduct charges today in a Clinton Township district court.

Janelle Batkins, 42, of Harrison Township, is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, a 15-year felony. She was released on a $25,000 personal bond under the conditions she doesn’t go on the school grounds and doesn’t have contact with minors unrelated to her..."

  This woman is facing 30 years in jail for having sex with a 17 year old (male).  It is because she was in a "position of authority" else it would have been OK.
  I can see her losing her job but 30 years in jail for having sex with a 17 year old?
  I feel sorry for her.  She is married and the mother of two children (14 and 21). 
  Now what I have to sort out is how would I feel if this was a man having sex with a 17 year old female.  I think I would feel the same.
