Do Immigrants (not legal) get money from the government?

  I am no expert in the subject I am going to talk about here.  If I am wrong feel free to correct me with the correct information.
  Since I do a blog I get messages or comments left about subjects that often people are very upset about.  Almost all the time it is from a nice person that has had a message sent to them with information that is not correct.  It will be very upsetting information and they will be told to forward the message to others.  So information that is not correct gets sent out to lots of people over and over again.

  Many of the messages now days have to do with people in the United States from other nations.  I just got one.
  This message was forwarded to me by a very nice guy.  He is a hard working American.  He works every day and it is hard for him to make it.  It is hard for him to pay the bills and buy food.

  I say I invented the blog in June of 1982 in Belton MO.  There is a poll on Howard's Notebook asking "Did Jim Howard invent blogging back in 1982?" and as of right now the vote is 26 that I am nuts or lying about it and 7 of you say yes I did.

Microsoft Virtual Earth

  I have been a big fan of Google Earth.  Today is, I think, the first time I looked at Microsoft Virtual Earth.
  I been using Google Earth almost everyday for the last few months.  (I can't tell you why right now.  I will tell you when I am free to talk about it.) 

  I am a bit confused about all the map services. 

  I check out these map services by looking up my own house.  I also look up the place in Belton that we lived for years.
  
  The aerial photo view is MUCH better with Microsoft "Live Search - Map" or Microsoft Virtual Earth.  Not sure just what in the hell you call it.  I guess their "Live Search" has "Maps" as a option.  

 

Day one of the diet - September 1 2007

Today is Saturday and this is Labor Day weekend.  Russell does not have to work today.  Ken is at work.

I have two computers in my room.  I have my old eMachine.  That was the computer that Russell was using, in the living room, until he got his new computer.  I have a Systemax computer also in my room.

Right now I have Windows running on both of them.

My room is a mess.

I'm starting September 2007 at 191 pounds - I'm 5' 7" so that's at least 30 what I should weight over but I'm not trying for miracles. Shooting for 180 - haven't been there in a long time and will keep Jim informed of progress.  Main thing for me is cheese and other junk and snack food.   And in general too much food. I already drink diet Pepsi so no "easy" fix there.

And sure I've done this before and weigh more than ever so the long term part is the hard part.

  I commented on this story when it took place.  I had forgot all about it.  What do you think?  I guess 12 years is fair IF he serves it all. 
  I do think the wrongful death lawsuit is a good idea.  It sounds like the wife should have got the 12 years. 

21 Year Old Disney Employee with Baby Porn

Think how much people hate child porn.  I saw on line about a Disney employee with "baby porn" and I was expecting to see some fat, old man.  At the WFTV.Com web site I saw the photo of a clean cut looking boy that looks like a kid.  He is the guy with over 63 photos and four videos of child and baby pornography.  Very odd.
He must be an odd duck.  An odd duck that maybe a fat old man when he gets out of jail.

John Warner
Sen. John Warner, R-Virginia, will not run for re-election.  He will retire after 30 years of service in the United States Senate.  He is 80 years old.  For a Republican John Warner was not too bad of a man.  He has given long service to the United States.  I respect him.  I hope, however, that he is replaced by a Democrat.  Smile

   

  
  

The Last Day of August

  Today is the last day of August.  Summer is over for the United States.  Of course I live in Florida and it is summer here all year.  The next few months the weather is going to be great.  During the summer it is very hot.  It is still going to be warm but nice for the next few months.
  Here in Florida we have a Wet Season and that is May through October.  November to April is the dry season.  I love the rain but I guess if I were rich I would live here from November to April and live some place else the rest of the year.

  Tomorrow is September 1st and I am going to go on a diet.  I am not sure what sort of diet it will be but the main thing is I am going to try and eat better but less.  I am at 210 pounds.  My goal is to get to 190 pounds and stay there.  I drink too much Coke and my goal is to limit myself to three cans each day.

  Today I will be working on this blog and I do that every day.  My goal is to also get the old computer formatted and in stall Windows  XP Home Edition.  In a few days when I get my $175.00 retirement money I am going to take $40.00 of it and get the cable set so that I can hook up both computers to one monitor, one keyboard and one mouse.  Then I can be sitting right here and switch between the computers.  I have done that in the past except then I had a four cable unit. 

  Oh traffic is up to ShowMeBlog.  It has been that way for the last two days.  We have been getting about 900 people each day visiting ShowMeBlog.  Yesterday we got 1591 visitors.  The day before that we got 1472.  Why are the extra 500 being sent to ShowMeBlog?  They are being sent here by search sites because of nude photos of Harry Potter.

It just gets better and better! NOT

 

I installed some stuff on the computer today.  I was getting everything set up and organized on the computer.  I got Civilization III today.  I had ordered it from eBay.  So I was playing the game and the game locked up.  I had to re-boot.

  When I did the re-boot... I got the message can not find the operation system.
  It looks like right now.. I am back to ground zero. 
  I am typing this on the computer.  I put in the Ubuntu Live CD.  So I boot up into Linux but it is not installed on the computer.  Pretty neat feature.  I would recommend you have a "Live CD" around in case you have a problem you can boot up and get on line.

  Well.. now what do I do?
  I am thinking right now.. just put the full version of Ubuntu 7.04 64 bit Linux on this computer.  On the old computer run the web cam off of it and Skype (VoIP phone service) on it. 

  I just remembered today I burned a 32 bit version of Ubuntu on a DVD.

  That means I could run Skype on here.  I think I will do that.

  I should at this point say I hate Windows again.. But the truth is ...I think I am to blame for all of these problems.
  Wish me luck.

 Update:  I installed Ubuntu 32 bit on my computer.
               I installed Skype on the computer but might have some sound problems. So I put Skype on the old computer.  I think it is working.  I guess I will find out when my ex-wife calls me.  That is about the only call I get.
