MXL 990 USB Stero Microphone

  Wow what a great looking microphone.



The above microphone should be on the market soon.  They say 3Q of this year.  The list price is $199.00 and that is a lot of money for a microphone but God it would look neat on my desk.  It would remind me of when I used to do my radio program.  I recorded it at KMBC radio for months and then I just started recording it at home.  I had a big mike when I recorded it at home also..into a reel to reel Wollensak tape recorder.

Oh the recorder I had before the Wollensak was a "wire" recorder! 

 

Discovery buys TreeHugger.Com

"Another mini blog empire has been snapped up: TreeHugger.com the destination blog for earthy, crunchy and design-minded hipsters all over the globe has been acquired by Discovery Communications, the cable programming giant. Terms of the deal were not disclosed in the official release, but the New York Post is reporting that Discovery peeled off $10 million for the blog, which was launched in 2004 and has grown to 1.4 million unique visitors per month..."

  Let me see..let me do the math...just kidding..
  In fact traffic for the last few days has been down to just over 500 people each day. 
  Plus I think about 25% of the traffic here is from young boys wanting to know how big their penis should be... Google and other search sites send them here. 
  When that traffic stops being sent here... I wonder how I will feel writing the blog for x number of people.  Of course they are not reading any of the content here anyway.  Smile

  As you know there are a few of you that are friends and "fans" (smile) and all the rest find this place via Internet search sites.  If search sites did not index this site and send people here I hate to think how many people would read ShowMeBlog.

Bill O'Reilly versus Chris Dodd

Watch it, listen to Dodd’s comments even when O’Reilly tries to talk over him.

But this is GOOD TELEVISION which is why O’Reilly should also be seen as a canny showman who understands what gets ratings in 21st century America..."

Gingrich says war on terror "phony"

  I wish Newt Gingrich was a Democrat.  Smile

  He said on Thursday that the Bush administration is waging a "phony war" on terrorism.  He said we are losing ground against the kind of Islamic radicals who attacked the U.S. on September 12, 2001.
   I hope when we get a new (Democrat) President of the United States that she will find a place for Newt Gingrich in the new administration.

 

Google has acquired FeedBurner

  I am sure your like me...You use some service and then Yahoo or Google will buy the service.  It seems like they follow you around and buy the services that you use and like.  It makes you wonder how many big corporations will end up running things when it is all over.
  I use FeedBurner for ShowMeBlog.   In fact 49 of you use FeedBurner to get the RSS feed from us and read it with out having to come to ShowMeBlog.



  FeedBurner is an excellent service.  I hope Google does not mess it up.  My guess is the will just improve it.

SpamArrest

If you send email to any of these email addresses; jhoward@hnbbs.net jhoward@hnbbs.com and jimhoward@spamarrest.com they get sent to me via SpamArrest.  You know it works.  I had 852 messages sent to me and only 234 were forwarded to me.  SpamArrest did not forward 72% of my mail to me because it was spam.  I did check the folder a few times and there were a couple of messages I needed to approve. 
I have email under control.

I been using OutLook Express but I just decided to run Thunderbird for my email.  I am not sure why I decided to make the change.  I am not using any of the filter functions of Thunderbird I don't need them right now.

 

South Beach in Top 10 U.S. Beach List

Today at MSN's homepage msn.com they had the MSN spotlight. Today's spotlight was the "Top 10 U.S. Beaches."

They picked South Beach in Miami as one of the top beaches in the US. What is cool is South Beach, also called SoBe is a topless beach. We have been there twice and a lot of the women go topless sunbathing at that beach.

We have been there and it is a cool beach so we agree with MSN's assessment. You get people of all ages at that beach.

Too bad they didn't pick Haulover Beach which is further north in Miami and probably the most famous nude beach in America.

MacArthur State Park in Florida

Florida Newspaper lists Nude Sunbathing as one of the 10 things they Love about MacArthur State Park in Florida

John D. MacArthur State Park is a beautiful park in Florida. Mr. MacArthur, a very wealthy businessman, donated the land to the state for the park. The deal was that part of the beach had to be set aside as a nude beach for nudists and naturists.

As soon as MacArthur died, the state reneged on the deal. They have even arrested people for nude sunbathing there.

This of course is so bizarre as one of the most popular of all beaches in Florida is haulover Beach in Miami. And South Beach is a famous legal topless beach.

The Sun Sentinel newspaper in Florida just came out with an article titled "10 things we love about John D. MacArthur Sate Park. One of the "things" they love is the nudies.

Free Cell Phone?

  Reports are that Google is working on a free cell phone.  It would be like an iPhone but not cost you $500.00 and not cost you $60.00 a month.  It would all be free.  They would pay for it by advertisements.
  They may have it ready to go in a year.  I don't know about you but I would be willing to listen or watch an advertisement in order to get a neat cell phone and not have to pay $60.00 a month.  (As long as I did not have to wait for an advertisement before I could call 911. Smile)
   I think this is going to be hard for them to come up with...  I would be willing to pay say $100.00 for a neat phone and say $10.00 a month and put up with advertisements.  What about you?
   The problem I see is...  Sure I am willing to put up with advertisements because I am poor.. And I am poor and can't afford to buy anything from their advertisements.  Those of you that can afford a normal cell phone don't want to put up with advertisements but yet you could afford to buy things because of the advertisements.
    It just seems to me they would be reaching the wrong people.

     Now, of course, they are Google the search people.  Even poor people order pizza and do those sorts of things.  If they had pizza coupons pop up and things like that..I could see it working..If I made a phone call and a advertisement pops up and says discount pizza just hit the button..I could see it working out well for Google.  
     It will be interesting to see what they come up with...
