“Miami, Florida – March 28, 2007 – United States President George W. Bush will speak at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) 2007 commencement exercises on Saturday, April 28, at 5:00 p.m., at the Kendall Campus graduation which will take place at the Gibson Center, 11011 SW 104 St. More than 1,100 students are expected to take part in the graduation at this campus.
The President’s participation in the commencement exercise continues MDC’s longstanding tradition of having world leaders speak at its campuses. Past speakers at college events include President Jimmy Carter, President Gerald Ford, President Bill Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev, Jose Maria Aznar, and Lech Walesa among many others.
In addition to Kendall Campus’ graduation, six other commencement exercises for MDC’s other campuses will take place the same day beginning at 8:00 a.m. and concluding at 7:00 p.m. with renowned keynote speakers soon to be announced. The College’s graduations are acclaimed for their festive and high-energy atmospheres as the flags of the nations representing the graduates are walked across stage to the cheers of participants.
