I got a statement today from the U.S. Department of Education. I get one each month. It looks like the collection agency they turned it over to gave it back to them again. So now my balance with them is $1,029.09 and they take about 140.00 out of my SS check each month to pay it. So it will soon be paid off. NOT.
What will happen is soon they will turn it over to a new collection agency and they had add over $500.00 in collection fees and costs. So I will soon get a statement that says I have to pay them $1500.00 or around that amount. Then the $140.00 or so I pay just sort of takes care of the interest. I been paying these people for years and years and the balance is going down very slow.
Ken, by the way, has $8K in school loans. The other students in school with Ken have school loans in the amount of $60K. Ken can pay back an $8K school loan. I do not see how those other people can pay back a $60K school loan. Remember there is going to be interest added until the loan is paid.
