Starting today (August 25th) is the Democratic National Convention. I will try and watch the DNC on cable.
I get a CNN.Com live video feed on my desktop. I have the Google sidebar set up on my computer. The CNN feed is a sidebar “gadget.” I also have a BBS audio gadget.
It looks like you and I can watch the entire Democratic National Convention on the Internet at their DNC Convention site.
Monday August 25th
“Barack Obama’s story is an American story that reflects a life of struggle, opportunity and responsibility like those faced by Americans everyday. The opening night of the Convention will highlight Barack’s life story, his commitment to change, and the voices of Americans who are calling for a new direction for this country.”
I will try and miss the comments of Howard Dean. I never liked him.
Tonight they will introduce the convention Co-Chairs. Kathleen Sebelius, Governor of Kansas, is one of them. I like her.
During the night Howard Dean will turn over the gavel to Nancy Pelosi and she will become the Permanent Chair of the 2008 Democratic Convention. (I hope and pray Howard Dean gets lost.) I hope Nancy will let Kathleen Sebelius chair most of the convention.
During the night I will have to see Manuel Diaz (Mayor of Miami FL).
There will be a segment and acknowledgement to President Carter.
I will not watch the comments of Jesse Jackson.
There will be a tribute to Senator Edward M. Kennedy. That may bring tears to my eyes.
We will see how much of the DNC I can watch.
My guess is that hard core true Republicans will not watch any of the convention.
