You can't teach an old dog new tricks or something like that..
All my life I could not swallow pills. I can remember when I was 5 years old my mother holding my nose closed and the land lady sitting on me and trying to get me to swallow a pill. I could not do it.
Even a fat land lady sitting on me could not get me to swallow a pill. You know maybe that is why I could never do it.
Over the years I have taken very few medication. Sometimes I would mash the pill into power. Often I had the doctor write the Rx for a liquid.
Well now that I take three medication each day I can swallow. So you can teach an old dog new tricks.
Speaking of dog when I was a kid I had a black cocker spaniel dog named "Lady." I had her for many years. I know we had her in 1954 and before for x number of years. I know we had her when I was in high school (1955 - 1959) because she died during the time I was in high school.
Well Lady would not swallow a pill. You could try and give it to her the way the vet says to give a pill and it would not work. She loved to eat food and you could place it inside of meat or anything and she would eat the food and leave the pill. She loved DQ cones and you could try and hid it in the ice cream but nothing worked.
Maybe you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
