I want to wish Dick, in Kansas City, a very happy birthday. I have known Dick for many many years. He has been a good friend.
Dick and I have many of the same interest. Both of us were early computer people. We are interested in many of the same issues.
Dick is also a ham radio operator.
Dick was in the Vietnam war. He was an officer in the USAF. He is a true American. He is just the sort of person you wish you had for a friend. He has done many things that I wish I had the guts to do. He is a kind soul.

"Well what a spot of honor to be featured on the Show Me Blog today. And how's Jim come up with this stuff - the date first and that photo? That photo was from last July after 3 hours out in the hot sun doing the taping for the 20/20 spot Jim mentioned a few entries back. I was hot, tired and sunburned. Still haven't seen it myself.
Thanks for all the connectivity you've provided the rest of us. Glad to be a visitor to your many BBS and web endeavors over the 20+ years. Maybe we both have a few more years and endeavors in us.
My first email connect to the outside world was through Jim's latchup with an Omaha User's Group where he'd have his BBS system call up to the Omaha group daily to send and receive email.
Sounds primitive now but in the middle 80s that was incredible - I was able to send and receive email - free - to anywhere! That was before spam so anything you got was real. Jim's free email service predated everything we take for granted.
